NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETINGix
TO THE CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS:
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas, will meet at 7:00
p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2000, in Suite 200, 3 Village Circle, in the Town of Westlake,
Texas. The Board will open the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and recess into executive session. The Board
will then reconvene into open session at 7:30 p.m. The Board will consider the following agenda:
1. Meeting called to order and announce a quorum.
2. EXECUTIVE SESSION.
A. The Board will conduct a closed session under Texas Government Code section 551.071
to seek advice of counsel on legal matters involving pending or contemplated litigation,
settlement offers, or other legal matters not related directly to litigation or settlement.
Pending or contemplated litigation and settlement offers include but are not limited to
the following:
i. City of Roanoke v. Tow of Westlake, Cause No. 97-50250-367 (Denton County
District Court)
ii. Competing applications of Town of Westlake and the City of Keller for Certificate of
Convenience and Necessity, SOAR Docket Nos. 482-97-0134 and -0175
B. The Board will conduct a closed session under Texas Government Code section 551.074
to discuss personnel matters.
C. Reconvene into open meeting at 7:30 p.m.
3. Take necessary action with respect to any of the pending matters in Item #2 above.
4. Citizens' Presentations: This is an opportunity for citizens to address the Board on any matter
whether or not it is posted on the agenda. The Board can not by law take action nor have any
discussion or deliberations on any presentation made to the Board at this time concerning an
item not listed on the agenda. Any item presented may be noticed on a future agenda for
deliberation or action.
5. Conduct a Public Hearing to consider an Ordinance adopting the budget for the fiscal year
ending September, 2001.
6. Presentation from Greg Tucker, the Deputy Director of the Department of Public Safety,
concerning the Uniform Fire Code regarding residential sprinkler requirements and consider an
Ordinance taking necessary action.

7. Conduct a Public Hearing to consider an Ordinance amending Article XIII, Subdivisions, of
the Unified Development Code.
8. Consent Agenda: All items listed below are considered to be routine by the Board of Aldermen
and will be enacted with one motion. There will be no separate discussion of items unless a
Board member or citizen so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the general
order of business and considered in its normal sequence.
A. Review and approve minutes of the regular meeting held on August 28, 2000.
B. Review and approve any outstanding bills.
9. Adjournment.

under the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.

The Board of Aldermen may at any time convene into executive session as authorized by Chapter
551 of the Texas Government Code to discuss any item posted on the agenda.
