HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-22-00 TC AgendaNotice of Board of Aldermen i�_ ..;ting Page 1 of 2 TOWN OF WE STLAKE, TEXAS t NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING f TO THE CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS: Notice is hereby given that the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas, will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2000, in Rooms 1 and 2 of the Education Center, 3 Village Circle, in the Town of Westlake, Texas. (Note Location Change) The Board will open the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and recess into executive session. The Board will then reconvene into open session at 7:30 p.m. The Board will consider the following agenda: 1. Meeting called to order. 2. Consider an ordinance canvassing the special election held on May 6, 2000. 3. Administer oath of office to newly elected Mayor and Aldermen. 4. Elect a Mayor Pro Tem. 5. EXECUTIVE SESSION. A. The Board will conduct a closed session under Texas Government Code section 551.071 to seek advice of counsel on legal matters involving pending or contemplated litigation, settlement offers, or other legal matters not related directly to litigation or settlement. Pending or contemplated litigation and settlement offers include but are not limited to the following: i. City of Roanoke v. Town of Westlake, Cause No. 97-50250-367 (Denton County District Court) ii. Competing applications of Town of Westlake and the City of Keller for Certificate of Convenience and Necessity, SOAH Docket Nos. 482-97-0134 and -0175 B. Reconvene into open meeting at 7:30 p.m. 6. Take necessary action with respect to any of the pending matters in Item #5 above. 7. Citizens' Presentations: This is an opportunity for citizens to address the Board on any matter whether or not it is posted on the agenda. The Board can not by law take action nor have any discussion or deliberations on any presentation made to the Board at this time concerning an item not listed on the agenda. Any item presented may be noticed on a future agenda for deliberation or action. 9. Present a plaque to David Loeser in appreciation of his service to the Town. 10. Consider a resolution appointing a new member to the Planning & Zoning Commission to serve an unexpired term. 11. Consider a resolution appointing members of the Westlake Tree City USA Committee. 12. Consider an ordinance amending the Building Code adding "smart house" support requirements. 13. Review and approve any outstanding bills. 14. Adjournment.
