HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-08-07 WPAS MinPublic Art Committee NOVEMBER 8, 2007 MINUTES A meeting of the Westlake Public Art Committee was held Thursday, November 8th, at 10:00 a.m., in the Town's offices at Solana. Attendees were: Michelle Corson, Carol Langdon, Shannon Larue, Mary Petty, and Mayor Scott Bradley. Absent were: Phyllis McConnell and Tim Brittan. Called the meeting to order. 2. Discussion of the Minutes ensued. Ms. Langdon mentioned that her name was spelled wrong. A motion was made by Ms. Langdon, seconded by Ms. Larue that the minutes from the August 3, 2007 meeting be approved and the motion carried unanimously. 3. Ms. Petty presented a sample of the holiday ornament. The board agreed to a price for the ornament of $20 with a total of 300 ordered. Ms. Corson reminded the board that the Town has agreed to fund these ornaments, so the profit per ornament will be 100%. 4. The board agreed to keep some level of exclusivity by not making any more ornaments than 300. Ms. Petty offered to talk with last year's recipients of the 43 ornaments that were made to see if they will keep their place. Discussion ensued about offering a discount to employees since they received their ornaments free last year; however, it was agreed that the price would be set and charged to all buyers of the ornaments. 5. Ms. Corson agreed to contact Maguire to see how many tenants they had and see if they would like to purchase an ornament for the holiday baskets they give out each year. 6. The following tasks were assigned: Ms. Larue will work with her kids to create a logo for the PAC Ms. Langdon will create an order form (a wide, short postcard format) and will check on the cost of postage Ms. Petty will draft a letter and text for the outside of the box Ms. Corson will draft an insert for the box Ms. McConnell and Mr. Brittan will create mailing labels and work on the database to include as many e-mail addresses as possible. 7. The following timeline was adopted: November 12th — Have all "creative" work complete November 15th — Mail out letter November 26th — December 3rd — Email campaign December 3rd — Order deadline November 30th — December 5th — Ornament assembling party at Michelle's December 6th — Pick up ornaments at Tree Lighting Thereafter — Pick up ornaments at Town Hall. 8. Ms. Corson agreed to e-mail the logo of Solana and photo to all other members. 9. The meeting was adjourned at 11:15.
