HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-17-09 WPAS MinMINUTES WESTLAKE PUBLIC ART SOCIETY BOARD MEETING NOVEMBER 17, 2009 PRESENT: Dave Rollins, Mike Silliman, Shannon LaRue, Kelly Cox, Debra Hale, Leah Rennhack, and Kay Anderson ABSENT: Vanessa Swarovski CALL MEETING TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM. TERRI MESSING, CHAIRMAN OF APEX Terri Messing, Chairman of Apex, spoke to the board about her role in Apex. She explained how Apex is organized, its mission and vision. Ultimately, Apex would like to build a home for the arts in our area. Terri has been the chairman of Apex for 3 years and she has served on the Southlake Arts Council for 8 years. Terri offered to be a resource for our board. TREASURER'S REPORT Shannon presented the treasurer's report. The bottom line amount available to the board is $16,000. The report was not approved because there were questionable expenses from the Town in the amount of $900. Shannon will get with the Town to clarify these expenses. MEMBERSHIPS No new memberships to report at this time. BOARD VACANCY Trish Biddle attended the board as a potential candidate to be a new member. At the end of the meeting, Dave asked Trish if she would like to be a member and she said yes. WEB UPDATE Debra needs more information from the board to incorporate additional online interaction on the web. Additional work needs to be done with Kaleidoscope. BRYMER / TOWN UPDATE Dave met with Tom Brymer. Precinct Line will break ground soon and Tom suggested members of the board should meet with Jared, the person at the Town responsible for the streetscape. Dave also said Stan, the Town's attorney, had some issues with the WPAS proposed 5016. PLANNING UPDATE Dave asked the board members to review the WPAS Master Plan and to come to the next meeting in January with suggested updates and changes. Dave also asked the board members to build an action plan and think about how we can start moving forward. Shannon made a motion to give $1000 to the Fort Worth Classical Guitar Society and Leah seconded the motion. All members voted in favor. The Fort Worth Classical Guitar Society will perform at Kelly and Scott Bradley's home on December 13. The next WPAS meeting will be held on January 19, 2009. ADFOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM.
