BOARD MEETING
OCTOBER 5, 2006
PRESENT: Board Members Allen Heath, Stephen Thornton, Ruby Held, and Kristi
Layton
ABSENT: President Kelly Bradley, Board Members Sharon Sanden, Jack Weisman,
and Pathfinder Editor Joyce Roach
OTHERS PRESENT: Vickey Smith
1. CALL TO ORDER
Board member Ruby Held called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m. in the
absence of President Kelly Bradley
2. SECRETARY'S REPORT
a. Minutes of July 31, 2006, and September 7, 2006
Board member Allen Heath moved to approve the minutes as presented.
Board member Kristi Layton seconded the motion.
There was no discussion, and Board member Ruby Held declared the motion
carried unanimously.
b. Membership
No discussion on this item.
3. TREASURER'S REPORT
It was reported that President Kelly Bradley and Treasurer Kristi Layton will meet
with Debbie Piper to discuss the budget.
4. WHPS Annual Meeting at First American
Kristi Layton and Vickey Smith updated the Society on the upcoming event.
They advised they will meet with First American to finalize the catering and other
details.
Vickey Smith is finalizing the invitations and will meet with President Bradley to
discuss printing and which sponsors to list on the invitations. The invitations are
set to go out by October 15, 2006.
The Society discussed the following awards and recipients:
Citizen of the Heart Award: Vickey Smith
Citizen of the Year Award: Wells Fargo
MOTION: Board member Steve Thornton moved to the award recipients.
Board member Ruby Held seconded the motion. The motion
carried unanimously.
The Society discussed the following for the event:
- Place order for awards
- Registration table
- Registration book
- Ruby Held will assist with the sale of the Christmas books
5. EDITOR'S REPORT
History Book
Board member Joyce Roach was unable to attend the meeting. No update was
given.
6. Time Capsule Report
Board member Sharon Sanden was unable to attend the meeting.
7. WHPS at Town of Westlake Christmas Tree Lighting Event
The Tree lighting will be held on November 30, 2006. Westlake Academy will
provide the entertainment for the event.
8. NEW BUSINESS
No discussion.
9. OLD BUSINESS
No discussion.
10. ADJOURN
MOTION: Board member Allen Heath moved to adjourn the meeting.
Seconded by Board member Steve Thornton. The motion carried
unanimously.
