BOARD MEETING
MAY 01, 2006
PRESENT: President Kelly Bradley and Board Members Stephen Thornton, Jack
Wiesman, Jean Dwinnell, Vickey Smith, Town Liaison Carolyn Sims, and
Pathfinder Editor Joyce Roach
ABSENT: Board Members Tom Allen, Ruby Held, Allen Heath, and ,

President Bradley called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m.
2. SECRETARY'S REPORT — Jean Dwinnell
Minutes
Ms. Smith moved, Mr. Wiesman seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the
Historical Society meetings held on February 6 and April 6, 2006.
There was no discussion and the motion carried unanimously.
3. TREASURER'S REPORT
Ms. Sims reported the Society currently has $13,760 in their account.
4. PATHFINDER REPORT — Joyce Roach
Ms. Roach's report was given under Item #7.
5. WESTLAKE ACADEMY BANDANA BONANZA — May 5
Discussion was held regarding the Historical Society booth at the Bandana Bonanza.
The possibility of having 50's music playing either on a boom -box or a phonograph
player was discussed, along with selling the Pathfinder and taking History Book orders
and the materials that would be needed, as well as having the banner on the booth.
President Bradley took a poll of those present to see who could attend the Bonanza and
work in the booth. President. Bradley, Ms. Roach, Ms. Sims, Ms. Layton, and Mr.
Thornton advised they could work.
6. DECORATION DAY — May 29
Mr. Thornton, Decoration Day Chair, reported on the event and reviewed the plans.
Discussion ensued regarding hand-held fans that could be used for different Historical
Society events. Using the Pathfinder cover or historical pictures for the front and
placing History Book information and the 50 -year sponsor, First American on the back
of the fans was discussed.
7. HISTORY BOOK
Ms. Roach reported on the status of the History Book.
Discussion ensued regarding the inclusion of a Westlake Academy student list, a list of
members for each Town Board with pictures, the cost to bind the books in leather, and
the cost of the hard bound History Book as originally proposed.
Ms. Roach reported that the cost for genuine leather bindings would be approximately
$75 — 100 each.
Ms. Sims suggested $50 for 50 years as the cost for the History Book.
Ms. Smith moved, Ms. Dwinnell seconded the motion to set the cost for the History
Book at $50 per book.
There was no further discussion and the motion carried unanimously.
Ms. Smith moved, Mr. Thornton seconded the motion to set the cost for the Pathfinder
at $10 at all events.
There was no further discussion and the motion carried unanimously.
8. 50TH CELEBRATION/FIRST AMERICAN
Discussion was held regarding the possibility of purchasing playing cards with historic
pictures on each.
Ms. Dwinnell moved, Ms. Smith seconded the motion to approve the hand-held fan
proposal in an amount not to exceed $400.00 with the Town's 50 -year title sponsor,
First American, on the back.
There was no further discussion and the motion carried unanimously.
9. SOCK HOP
This item was not discussed.
14. ADJOURN
Ms. Smith moved, Ms. Bradley seconded the motion to adjourn.
There was no discussion and President Bradley declared the meeting adjourned at 8:13
p.m.
