Board Meeting
Westlake History Museum
February 9, 2009
Members Present: Sharon Sanden, Teresa Walton, Kelly Bradley, Lisa Councilman,
Jack Weisman, Stephan Thornton, Heidi Kloempken
Members Absent: Kristi Layton and Ruby Held
Non — Members present: Allen and Helen Werst
1. Call to Order
a. President Sanden called the meeting to order at 10:10 am
2. Consider approval of minutes from January 12, 2009
a. President Sanden mentioned Michelle Corson resigned from Secretary.
New secretary Heidi Kloempken was appointed.
b. Minutes read by President Sanden. Discussion on adjustments.
i. MOTION: Member Bradley motioned to pass incorrect and
incomplete minutes from 1/12 meeting. Seconded by President
Sanden. Motion carried.
3. Treasurer's Report
a. Treasurer Layton was absent from the meeting.
4. Decoration Day
a. Member Walton set up a meeting for the Decoration Day committee. They
will meet Feb. 11, 2009 at 12:30 pin at West End Guitar and Coffee Shop.
She will also send an e-mail reminder to Allan, Helen, Heidi, Sharen,
Kelly, and Lisa.
b. Citizen Allan discussed the progress made for the poppies and parade for
the event. Members discussed possibility of small parade to start and
contacting someone at the Westlake Academy.
5. History book
a. Author Roach wrote letter to board read by Member Councilman.
i. MOTION: Member Walton motioned that we support Author
Roach and changes she make with the publishing company.
Member Stephan second. Motion passed.
b. Author Roach will write a letter in regards to the changes made. Letter
will be read by the board before it is sent to pre -purchasers of the book.
6. Secretary Heidi needed to leave for a previous engagement (class).
