WESTLAKE PUBLIC ART SOCIETY MEETING
April 25, 2012
Present: Bryan Biddle, Kelly Cox, Trish Biddle, Amelia Johnson, Gail James
Absent: Leah Rennhack, Debra Hale
Others Present: Alison Ross, Amanda DeGan
1. CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order by President Biddle at 7:30 pm.
2. REVIEW AND APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE MARCH 28, 2012 MEETING
Motion made by Director Cox, seconded by Director Johnson. Motion carried 5 -0.
3. REVIEW AND DISCUSS PARTICIPATION IN ARBOR DAYS WRAP
Artists enjoyed the professional display, Easter weekend dampened attendance. A Shuttle would be easier than walking.
Next year we should have a more official outreach to the student to increase participation, and only announce the winners
at the show so everyone displays their work, not just the winners. Booth watching shifts by the Board so no one person is
there the whole time. A very successful event that we plan to do again next year. Need to set up meeting with Tom Brymer
to select original piece to display in the Westlake Town Hall as the WPAS collection (TCA — Tom's Choice Award :). Discussed
setting up scholarship for WA Seniors that plan to take art as major or minor. Range may be $500. Discussed having student
advisor to WPAS and having occasional meeting at WA. Discussed funding videographer for DP art exams. No motion was
made.
4. REVIEW AND DISCUSS CHRISTINE SMITH "LOSING FOCUS" SCREENPLAY DISCUSSION EVENT
Discussed date of the event and location. No additional motions made.
5. REVIEW AND DISCUSS THE TREASURER'S REPORT
Director Johnson reported in her reported a $4,235 balance as of 4/25/2012 from funds provided by the Town of Westlake
for the 2012 fiscal year 10/1/11 - 9/30/12. No motion was made.
6. DISCUSS AND SCHEDULE NEXT MEETING
Discussed items to place on next meeting's Agenda: Videographer Funding /Art Scholarship /Car Show participation. May
23, 2012, 7:00pm at the Solana Marriot Lounge will be the next tentative meeting date for WPAS.
7. ADJOURN
Motion made by Director Biddle to adjourn meeting, seconded by Director Johnson.
President B. Biddle adjourned the meetingat 8:45 pm.
