WESTLAKE PUBLIC ART SOCIETY MEETING
March 28, 2012
Present: Bryan Biddle, Kelly Cox, Trish Biddle, Amelia Johnson, Leah Rennhack
Absent: Gail James, Debra Hale, April Gallagher
Others Present: Rebecca Neidich
1. CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order by President Biddle at 7:20 pm.
2. REVIEW AND APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE MARCH 6, 2012 MEETING
Motion made by Director Johnson to approve with corrections, seconded by Director Rennhack. Motion carried 5 -0.
3. REVIEW AND DISCUSS PARTICIPATION IN ARBOR DAYS AND ART CONTEST GUIDELINES
Letters sent out to AIR artist offering display space, letters sent to artists for contest submissions. Art will be judged by
Bryan, Trish and an AIR artist will be asked as well. No motion was made.
4. REVIEW AND DISCUSS FUNDRAISING IDEAS FOR WPAS, LE., WHITE PARTY, LIVE DRAW, MEMBERSHIP LEVELS
Screenplay writer Christine Smith would like to donate funds raised at a private event to discuss her latest work "Losing
Focus" at the Bradley residence. AIR artist Richard Nunez will be painting live, and Conor will be performing. There is a $25
cover stipend, gross to go to WPAS. Event is in May. Motion made to participate in the event with proceeds going to WPAS
made by Director Cox, Seconded by Director Rennhack. Motion carried 5 -0. Discussed participating with the Westlake
Historical Society on the annual classic car show. Discussed creating an official poster for sale at the event in October.
Discussed getting the City of Roanoke involved, maybe Tom Brymer could help reach out. No additional motions made.
5. REVIEW AND DISCUSS MEMBER CONFIRMATIONS
Town of Westlake to review and approve Alison Ross application. April Gallagher has resigned from the board due to time
constraints of other obligations. No motion made.
6. REVIEW AND DISCUSS THE TREASURER'S REPORT
Director Johnson reported in her reported a $4,345 balance as of 3/23/2012 from funds provided by the Town of Westlake
for the 2012 fiscal year 10/1/11 - 9/30/12. No motion was made.
7. DISCUSS AND SCHEDULE NEXT MEETING
Discussed items to place on next meeting's Agenda: Art contest at Arbor Days wrap /Christine Smith screenplay event/
WPAS Fundraising Ideas. April 25, 2012, 7:00pm at the Biddle residence will be the next tentative meeting date for WPAS.
8. ADJOURN
Motion made by Director Biddle to adjourn meeting, seconded by Director T. Biddle.
President B. Biddle adjourned the meeting at 8:20 pm.
