CALL TO ORDER. President Thornton called the meeting to order at 7:02 P.M. 2. REVIEW AND APPROVE MINUTES OF THE WHPS MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 4, 2014. Member Brewster read the minutes. President Thornton asked for a motion to approve. MOTION: Member Zipperlen made a motion to approve the minutes. Member Meyer seconded the motion. The motion carried. 3. TREASURER'S REPORT. There was no Treasurer's Report 4. NEW BUSINESS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS. Membership: President Thornton and Member Mason are working on a membership recruiting letter. Susan McFarland said the Town can provide paper, envelopes and postage for our mailing. Simply Westlake: The article about the I.O.O.F cemetery co -written by Paula Thornton, Stephen Thornton and Jon White appeared in t e"Decemberissiae Susan NlcFariand"will askthe-Town-for a copy"of-that issue and all past issues of Simply Westlake for the WHPS archives. Stephen Thornton, Jon White and Daniel Zipperlen will write an article about the Circle T Ranch to be published this WHPS Minutes 1/13/2015 Page 1 of 2 spring around the time of the dedication of the historical marker. Historical Marker Dedication Day: Dedication day for the Circle T Ranch historical marker is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Website and Social Media: There was discussion about whether WHPS should create its own website. Daniel Zipperlen reported that it would cost $500 for initial development and then approximately $100 per month for ongoing maintenance and search engine optimization. No action was taken. He will also follow up with the Town on whether we can use Paypal to collect WHPS dues. Museum Exhibit: President Thornton reported that the current museum exhibit of maps "Contours of Texas" will be traveling to several corporate campuses in Westlake. The first stop is TD Auto Finance. This will be our first traveling exhibit, designed specifically to go to several corporate campuses in Westlake and possibly Westlake Academy if there is interest. He also reported that in the next few weeks he will be assembling the next museum exhibit: Indian artifacts. Future Ideas and Purchases: President Thornton asked Daniel Zipperlen to look into the cost of a video camera to record our events and report at the next meeting President Thornton asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. MOTION: Member White made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Member Zipperlen seconded the motion. The motion carried. President Thornton adjourned the meeting at 8:38 P.M. The next scheduled meeting of the Westlake Historical Preservation Society Board will be Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 7:00 PM.
