The West Lake Planning and Zoning Committee met November 22, 1983, Present were
Mike Porter from I.A., Bill Nelson from Nelson Engineering, Larry Best and Tracy Kunkel
from Trophy Club and Scott Bradly, B.J. Minyard and Bill Foster from West Lake.
The time table for development of the Indian Creek Town Homes, Plantation and The Greens
was discussed. Indian Creek and the Plantation will be underway, in 90 days. The Greens
will be 4--5 months in the future. Trophy Wood Drive plan is finished and is ready to
be bid. there will be room for I.B.M. to have an overpass down the road.
Construction for these units will enter from hwy, 1124 and not go thru Trophy Club,
The Plantation and the Green will each have one entrance on to hwy. 1114. Some of the
traffic from these developments will be routed thru to Indian Creek Drive, by going
thru the Indian Creek Town homes roads. The Fire Department will then have access to
both areas. There will be a paved road in the Plantation to the Greens, with a fire
gate, the road for the f#re truck will not be paved in The Greensp but there will be a
25 ft. eaament along the highway.
The Planning and Zoning Committee approved these plans. Mr. Bradley stated that he did
not want to see anymore plats until I.A. came up with a master plan and he wanted to
see Park and Recreation areas and highway planning.
Discussion was held on the traffic problem and Mr. Bradley said he would life to dee
a master plan for the highway, we know the highway is comming and it does not seem x
prudent to not allow enough land along the hwy. for improvement of the hwy. Mr. Bradley
is not comfortable with the fact that there is no plan for the hwy, Mr. Best is also
not happy with the hwy, as it is and is concerned with safety for all Trophy Club
residents. No one on the West Lake committe or the Trophy Club people present are
happy with the danger of the highway* Mr. Bradley feel& that the residents should be
able to influence the hwy. department. Mr. Felson will committ his office to work on
the hwy, problem. He will also work with I.B.M. on the overpass by Trophy Wood drive.
Discussion was held on the possibility of speeding up the request for stop lights, as
of this time they are not in the hwy. plan until 1986. The speed limit was also discussed
with the idea of lowering it, the hiring of a marshal to patrol 114 was also discussed.

It was thought that we may be able to force the hwy, issue because of all the new
building. Mr. Nelson indicated that he will be willing to work towards getting the
highway department to move on the 114 issue. A committee was =ppoixtad suggested,
Scott Bradley, Larry Best, Bill Nelson and Tracy Kunkel,, to try to to lk to John Blair
of the highway department. There is a willingness on the part of I.B.M. & Hunt Ranch
to donate land for the highway.
The access from the Plantation and The Greens that goes thr5Indian Creek flown Homes
will be closed off when the highway is finished, taking some of the traffic off Indian
Creek Drive.
There was some discussion on the use of the Army Corp land for the development of
parks.
Respectifuily submitted,
Tracy Kunkel
