MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
April 8, 2002
Present: Scott Bradley, Mayor
Fred Held, Mayor Pro Tem
Buddy Brown, Member
Bill Frey, Member
Don Redding, Member
Larry Sparrow, Member
Trent Petty, Town Manager
Stan Lowry, Town Attorney
Ginger Crosswy, Town Secretary
Absent: No one.

Item #1:Mayor Bradley called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. by announcing a quorum, consisting of
Alderman Held, Alderman Brown, Alderman Frey, Alderman Redding and Alderman Sparrow:
Item #2: The Board convened into executive session at 7:16 p.m. as Mayor Bradley read the items to be
•,scussed. The Board recessed out of executive session at 7:25 p.m. and reconvened into open session at
:'30 p.m.
Item 43: There was no action taken coming out of executive session.
Item #4: Citizens Presentation. No one wished to address the Board.
Item 46: Consider an Ordinance canceling the May 4, 2002, general election and declaring each unoppos--d
candidate elected to office; providing that this ordinance shall be cumulative of all ordinances; providing a
severability clause and providing an effective date. There was a motion by Alderman Held, seconded by
Alderman Redding, to adopt Ordinance _N_o,_4.16. There was no discussion and the motion carried
unanimously.
Item #5: Nina Brown introduced Stephen Thornton as the Town's Volunteer of the Year. Mayor Bradley
presented Mr. Thornton with a proclamation congratulating him for being chosen and thanking him for his
service to the Town.
Item #7: Consent agenda. Motion by Alderman Frey, seconded by Alderman Held, to approve the consent
agenda, which included the following:
A. Review and approve minutes of the regular meeting held on March 25, 2002.
. Review and approve minutes of the special meeting held on March 24, 2002.
C. Review and approve any outstanding bills.

After a short question and answer session, the motion carried unanimously.
Item #8: Motion by Alderman Held, seconded by Alderman Brown, to adjourn. The motion carried
unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
