MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
October 8, 2001
Present: Scott Bradley, Mayor

Item #1:Mayor Bradley called the meeting to crder at 7:00 p.m. by announcing a quorum, consisting of
Alderman Held, Alderman Frey, Alderman Brown, Alderman Sparrow and Alderman Redding.
Item #2: The Board convened into executive session at 7:03 p.m. as Mayor Bradley read the items to be
discussed. The Board recessed out of executive session at 7:41 p.m. and rec()nvened into open session at
7:45 p.m.
Item #3: There was a motion by Alderman Reeding, seconded by Alderman Brown, to authorize the
placement of the Town Manager on the Town'!, Texas Municipal Retirement System account with the Town
to pay the applicable contributions to same, an i to extend the current contract with the Town Manager one
year authorizing the Mayor to execute a contra 3t amendment to said contract. There was no discussion and
the motion carried unanimously.
Item #4: Citizens Presentation. Debra Heath, tl te Chairperson of the Tree City USA Advisory Committee,
introdued the members of the committee and a.mounced that GlenWyck Farms has won second place in the
2001 Community Award Program in the area cf Residential Development. 1.4s. Heath also told the assembly
that the second annual Arbor Day Celebration will be held on October 13 at GlenWyck Farms.
Stephen Thornton ran a short video showing tf e first Arbor Day Celebration that the Town had in 2000.
Alderman Redding told the audience that there will be a Celebration of Freedon held at the Texas Motor
Speedway on Wednesday, October 10 sponsor;d by the RTCW Chamber of Commerce.
Item #5: Consider a Resolution certifying the r.umber of qualified registeredd voters signing the petition to
call a local option election for the legal sale of wine for off -premise consumption only. Mayor Bradley and
Ginger Crosswy, the Town Secretary, explained this item. There was a motion by Alderman Sparrow,
seconded by Alderman Redding, to adopt Resc lution No: 01-42. There was no discussion and the motion
carried unanimously.

Item #6: Consider an Ordinance calling a local option election to consider the sale of wine for off -premise
;onsumption only. Mayor Bradley spoke conc( ming this item. There was a motion by Alderman Frey,
,econded by Alderman Sparrow, to adopt Ordinance No. 401. There was no discussion and the motion
carried unanimously.
Item #7: Consent agenda. Motion by Aldermai L Brown, seconded by Alderman Redding, to approve the
consent agenda, which included the following:
A. Review and approve minutes of the regular meeting held on September 24, 2001.
B. Review and approve any outstanding bills.
There was no discussion and the motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Bradley read a thank you note from the family of David Miller, Sr.
Item #8: Motion by Alderman Brown, seconded by Alderman Held, to adjourn. The motion carried
unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
