HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-09-01 TC MinMinutes of the Board of Aldermen meeting TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN April 9, 2001 Present: Scott Bradley, Mayor Don Redding, Member Larry Sparrow, Member Buddy Brown, Member Trent Petty, Town Manager Matthew Boyle, Town Attorney Larry Fuson, Town Water and Wastewater Engineer Eddie Haas, Traffic Engineer Melanie Vanlandingham, Landscape Architect Ginger Crosswy, Town Secretary Absent: Fred Held, Mayor Pro Tem Bill Frey, Member Page 1 of 2 Item #1: There was a work session at 6:30 p.m. to consider lighting options for Westlake Parkway. Item #2: Mayor Bradley called the Board of Aldermen meeting to order at 7:25 p.m. by announcing a quorum consisting of Alderman Brown, Alderman Redding and Alderman Sparrow. Item #3: The Board convened into executive session at 7:28 p.m. as Mayor Bradley read the items to be discussed. The Board recessed out of executive session at 7:52 p.m. and reconvened into open session at 8:00 p.m. Item #4: Coming out of the executive session Mr. Boyle, the Town Attorney, suggested the Board make a motion to call a Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting for May 14, 2001 to consider terminating the legal non conforming use of Kennel Kare, Inc. located at 2205 Pearson Lane. Alderman Redding made the motion, seconded by Alderman Brown. The Mayor called for discussion, but as no one wished to speak, the Mayor called for the vote. The motion carried unanimously. Item #5: Citizens Presentation. No one wished to address the Board. Item 46: Consider an Ordinance canceling the May 5, 2001, regular election and declaring each unopposed candidate elected to office. Motion by Alderman Brown, seconded by Alderman Redding, to approve Ordinance No. 389. There was no discussion and the motion carried unanimously. Item #7: Consider a Resolution authorizing an agreement for a mutually agreeable boundary adjustment with the City of Keller. Mayor Bradley asked Alderman Redding to chair this item since the property in question belonged to Mayor Bradley and his wife. Mr. Petty, the Town Manager, explained this item to the Board. Motion by Alderman Sparrow, seconded by Alderman Brown, to adopt Resolution No. 01-18. After a short question and answer session the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Petty, the Town Manager, explained this item and introduced Mr. Fuson, the Town Water and Wastewater Engineer. Mr. Fuson introduced Darryl Waldock with AquaSource who introduced the people with him and made a brief presentation. After a short question and answer period there was a motion by Alderman Redding, seconded by Alderman Sparrow, to adopt Resolution No. 01-19. There was no discussion and the motion carried unanimously. Item #9: Consider a Resolution amending the budget for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2001, to authorize the expenditure for the G1enWyck Farms waterline. Mr. Petty explained this item. Motion by Alderman Sparrow, seconded by Alderman Brown, to adopt Resolution No. 01-20. After discussion, the motion carried unanimously. Item #10: Consent agenda. Motion by Alderman Redding, seconded by Alderman Brown, to approve the consent agenda, which included the following: A. Consider Resolution No. 01-21 approving an expenditure of $1000.00 from the Municipal Court Technology Fund the purchase of a new computer. B. Review and approve minutes of the regular meeting held on March 12, 2001. �. Review and approve any outstanding bills. There was no discussion and the motion carried unanimously. At this time the Mayor read two thank you notes to the Town. Item 411: Motion by Alderman Sparrow, seconded by Alderman Brown, to adjourn. The motion carried unanimously.
