HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-22-98 TC MinMinutes of the Board of Aldermen meeting TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN June 22, 1998 Present: Scott Bradley, Mayor Charla Bradshaw, Mayor Pro Tem David Loeser, Member Abe Bush, Jr., Member Fred Held, Member Jerry Dinsmore, Member Bill Greenwood, Planning & Zoning Chairman Don Redding, Planning & Zoning Commissioner Paul Isham, Town Attorney Terry Morgan, Special Counsel Jim Morris, Legal Consultant Dennis Wilson, Town Planner Ginger Crosswy, Town Secretary Absent: No one Page 1 o2 The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Bradley. The Board recessed into executive session at 6:03 p.m. as Mayor Bradley read each agenda item to be discussed. The executive session was adjourned at 7:40 p.m. and the Board reconvened into open session at 7:52 p.m. Alderman Bradshaw had to leave and was excused. Item #3:No action was needed on this item. Item #4: Motion by Alderman Bush, seconded by Alderman Dinsmore, to approve minutes of the regular meeting held on June 8, 1998 and the special meeting held on June 15, 1998, as presented. The motion carried unanimously. Item #5: Citizens' Presentations: David Brown told the assembly that the Baylor Law School in Waco says that there are so many requests for seats at the Texas Supreme Court hearing in September that they cannot reserve any seats, and that the issue of seating is being referred to the Clerk of the Supreme Court. Item 46: Motion by Alderman Loeser, seconded by Alderman Held, to pay all outstanding bills. The motion carried unanimously. Item 47: PUBLIC HEARING concerning the Open Space Plan. Mayor Bradley opened the hearing and told the audience that since the Planning & Zoning Commission was unable to meet due to the lack of a quorum, the Board would not consider this item tonight. Mayor Bradley said that the public hearing would be continued and rescheduled for a later meeting and everyone would be notified; but if anyone wished to speak on this subject now they are welcome to address the Board. No one wished to speak. Item #8: Consider and take action to adopt the Open Space Plan. Mayor Bradley opened the public hearing and stated that anyone could address the Board, but that this item would be rescheduled for the same meeting as item #7. No one desired to speak. Item # 10: Consider and take action to adopt the revised Engineering Design Standards. No action was taken on this item. Item 411: Other Business: Alderman Held asked the Board if he should ask Tarrant County to trim the trees along the Town's roads? The Board stated that it had previously given Alderman Held the authority to handle any issue concerning road repair. Item 412: Motion by Alderman Bush, seconded by Alderman Held, to adjourn.
