At 7:35 p.m. Mayor Bradley announced that there was no quorum. He told the
audience that Alderman Bush and Alderman Dinsmore were out of town but we would
wait until 8:00 p.m. to see if Alderman Bradshaw arrives. Mayor Bradley then
introduced Ann Diamond of the Tarrant County District Attorneys' office. Ms.
Diamond spoke to the assembly telling them of the ruling made by the Second Court of
Appeals. The ruling states that Mayor Bradley was legally removed from office and Dale
White is the legal mayor of the Town of Westlake. Ms. Diamond told the audience that
although this is not a popular ruling, it is the law and the law must be followed. Ms.
Diamond then answered numerous questions from the audience.
David Brown of 4050 Aspen Lane in Westlake, addressed the audience and
presented a petition to Alderman Held signed by 81 registered voters and residents of
Westlake asking the Board of Aldermen to immediately bring charges against the
appointed mayor, Dale White, and remove him from office under the same Texas statute
that was used to remove Mayor Bradley. Mr. Brown then read the petition to the
assembly.
Mayor Bradley then apologized to the audience for the inconvenience and
announced that there would be no meeting.
