TOWN OF WESTLAKE
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OCTOBER 20, 1997

Mayor Bradley called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. by reading the list of items
to be discussed in executive session. The Board then convened into executive session.
The Board recessed out of executive session at 7:35 p.m. and reconvened into open
session at 7:40 p.m.
Item #3: No action was taken on any of the pending matters in item #2.
Item #4: Review and approve minutes of the regular meeting held on October 13, 1997.
Motion by Alderman Loeser, seconded by Alderman Bradshaw, to approve the
minutes as presented.
Motion carried unanimously.
Item 95: Citizens' presentations. Don Gardner of 6040 Mahotea Boone Trail asked
about the surveying stakes on the Circle T Ranch. Mayor Bradley responded
that he spoke with a surveyor from Carter & Burgess, and the surveyor said
that they were surveying the Circle T to confirm the corners.
Item 96: Consider request from Metroport Meals on Wheels for a contribution, Ruthann
Askew, President of the Board of Trustees, made a brief presentation about
the Metroport Meals on Wheels program. The Towns of Roanoke, Trophy
Club and Westlake are considered one division of the program and
approximately 20% of the meals are delivered to residents of these three
Towns. Alderman Dinsmore moved to make a $2,500.00 contribution to

Metroport Meals on Wheels and the motion was seconded by Alderman
Loeser.
Motion carried unanimously.
Item 97: Consider a request from the Roanoke Public Library for a contribution.
Katherine Boyer of the Roanoke Public Library made a brief presentation to
the Board. Motion by Alderman Loeser, seconded by Alderman Dinsmore, to
contribute $2,500.00 to the Roanoke Public Library.
Motion carried unanimously.
Item #8: Review and approve any bills paid or unpaid. Motion by Alderman Held,
seconded by Alderman Bradshaw, to pay all of the outstanding bills.
Motion carried unanimously.
The bills to be paid are as follows:
Cantey & Hanger, L.L.P. $1,549.69
Trophy Club Police Department 850.00
Trophy Club Fire Department 150.00
Item 99: Town Logo. Clayton Gardner presented his revised drawings for a new Town
logo. The alternatives were placed on the wall and a straw vote of those
present at the meeting favored Alternative #1. A suggestion was made to
revise Alternative #2 and bring it back to the Board. Also, a suggestion was
made to place an article in the Westlake citizens newsletter about the logo. No
action was taken on the logo.
Item 10: PUBLIC HEARING to consider and take action on the revised Unified
Development Code. Dennis Wilson, the Town Planner, made a brief
presentation about the revisions. No one else spoke at the public hearing and
no action was taken. Mayor Bradley announced that the hearing would be
continued to a subsequent meeting.
Item #11: Other business. There was no other business to come before the Board.
Item #12: Motion by Alderman Held, seconded by Alderman Bush, to adjourn.
Motion carried unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
