Chairman Greenwood opened the public hearing at 7:30 p.m. by asking if there
was anyone in the audience wishing to address the commission on the revised Unified
Development Code. No one wished to speak. Then the floor was turned over to Mr.
Wilson, the Town Planner. Mr. Wilson asked if anyone on the commission had any
questions. There was a lengthy session including questions concerning temporary signs,
drainage issues, the number of trees required per parking space in a parking lot, and code
enforcement. Mr. Redding asked Mr. Wilson to explain the process of developing the
new Unified Development Code. Mr. Wilson told the commission that the process of
revising and updating had started after the previous UDC was passed in 1992, with
meeting with the large landowners at that time. The process was continued thru early
this year with numerous meetings involving representatives of the current large
landowners in the Town, with the current revision being a product of the questions and
concerns of everyone involved.
There was a motion by Mr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Redding, to close the public
hearing and recommend that the Board of Alderman adopt the revised Unified
Development Code with the current changes included.
Motion carried unanimously.
There was a motion by Mr. Redding, seconded by Mr. Heath, to adjourn.
Motion carried unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 p.m.
