HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-14-97 PZ Min317 TOWN OF WESTLAKE MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OCTOBER 14,1997 Present: Bill Greenwood, Chairman Buddy Brown, Member Don Redding, Member Sarah Brown, Member Allen Heath, Member Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney Dennis Wilson, Town Planner Ginger Crosswy, Town Secretary Absent: No one Chairman Greenwood opened the public hearing at 7:30 p.m. by asking if there was anyone in the audience wishing to address the commission on the revised Unified Development Code. No one wished to speak. Then the floor was turned over to Mr. Wilson, the Town Planner. Mr. Wilson asked if anyone on the commission had any questions. There was a lengthy session including questions concerning temporary signs, drainage issues, the number of trees required per parking space in a parking lot, and code enforcement. Mr. Redding asked Mr. Wilson to explain the process of developing the new Unified Development Code. Mr. Wilson told the commission that the process of revising and updating had started after the previous UDC was passed in 1992, with meeting with the large landowners at that time. The process was continued thru early this year with numerous meetings involving representatives of the current large landowners in the Town, with the current revision being a product of the questions and concerns of everyone involved. There was a motion by Mr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Redding, to close the public hearing and recommend that the Board of Alderman adopt the revised Unified Development Code with the current changes included. Motion carried unanimously. There was a motion by Mr. Redding, seconded by Mr. Heath, to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 p.m. William E.
