TOWN OF WESTLAKE
MINUTES OF THE
EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE
BOARD OF ALDERMEN
APRIL 11, 1997
Present: Carroll Huntress, Mayor Pro -Tem
Howard Dudley, Member
Al Oien, Member
Jerry Moore, Member
Jane Thacker, Town Attorney
Bill Wood, Town Attorney
Ginger Crosswy, Town Secretary
Absent: Scott Bradley, Mayor
Fred Held, Member
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Alderman Huntress. He then
read the attached statement into the record.
Item #1: Consider and take action necessary to reconsider Ordinance No. 270 rescinding
Ordinance No. 237 and Ordinance 253. Motion by Alderman Dudley,
seconded by Alderman Oien, to adopt Ordinance No. 270.
Motion carried unanimously.
Item #2: Consider and take action necessary to ratify the hiring of a new Town attorney.
Motion by Alderman Dudley, seconded by Alderman Oien, to ratify the hiring of
the firm of Wood, Thacker & Weatherly, P.C. at the new Town attorney.
Motion carried unanimously.
The meeting convened into Executive Session at 7:34 p.m. The Board reconvened
into open session at 8:10 p.m.
Item #3: Consider and take action necessary with respect to ongoing litigation involving
the Town. Because of the ongoing litigation Alderman Dudley moved to give
the Mayor Pro -Tem the authority to appoint a deputy early voting clerk. This
motion was seconded by Alderman Oien.
Motion carried unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
