Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Aldermen for
the Town of Westlake, Texas.
Present: Mayor Scott Bradley; Aldermen Howard Dudley, Jerry Moore,
and Ai Oien; Town Attorney Paul Ishan.
Absent: Mayor Pro -Teal Carroll Huntress, Alderman Fred Held.
Item 01: Motion by Howard Dudley, seconded by Jerry Moore to
approve minutes of the April 10th, 1995 meeting.
Motion carried unanimously.
Item #2: CITIZENS' PRESENTATION: There was no one to address
the Board.
Item #3: Motion by Howard Dudley, seconded by Jerry Moore to
adopt Ordinance #240, canvassing the results of the
election held May 6th, 1995, electing hree Aldermen.
Motion carried unanimously.
Item ;4: Mayor Bradley administered Oath of O fice to the newly
elected Aldermen Al Oien and Jerry more. Alderman Fred
Held was absent from the meeting.
Item #5: Motion by Jerry Moore, seconded by Howard Dudley to
adopt Ordinance #239, repealing the exemption of tele-
communication services from the Town's local sales tax.
Motion carried unanimously.
Item #6: The amendment to the Town's contract with Trophy Club
concerning the provision of police services was tabled
until the Town Attorney could review it further in order
to advise the Aldermen.
Item #7: Motion by Howard Dudley, seconded by Jerry Moore to
adopt Ordinance #241, calling an election for August 12th,
1995, to adopt an additional one-half (1/2) cent sales
tax for the Town.
Motion carried unanimously.
Item #8: The matter of an interlocal agreement with the City of
Southlake to share a sewer line to be placed in Kirkwood
Branch and Higgins Branch was tabled until next meeting.
Item #9: The matter of authorizing a regional stormwater detention
study on Kirkwood Branch was tabled until next meeting.
Item #10: The adoption of Special Building Permit Fees was tabled
until next meeting.
Item #11: Motion by Al Oien, seconded by Jerry Moore to grant the
variance from Ordinance #200, Section 4B2b, page 19-20,
the Town's building height restriction to accommodate
the construction of an observatory on Nathan Graves' home
at 4110 Aspen Lane.
Motion carried unanimously.

Item #12: The Board authorized the Mayor to initiate action to
obtain a United States Postal Service facility for
the Town of Westlake.
Item #13: No matters were discussed by the Board under this item.
Item #14: The Board recessed at 7:55 p.m. into an Executive Session
pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code to
discuss the litigation with Southwestern Bell Mobile
Systems with its Attorneys.
The Mayor informed the Board that Town Secretary Odessa
Sharpless would be relocating to Nashville, Tn.; therefore,
the Town needs to be looking for a replacement as soon as
possible.
The Board reconvened into open session at 9:25 p.m. No
action was needed to be taken on matters discussed in
executive session.
Item #15: There being nootherbusiness to come before the Board,
the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
