HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-06-92 TC MinMAO MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS A Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of West- lake, Texas was held on the 6th day of January, 1992 at the Town Hall of Westlake, 3 Village Circle, Suite #207, Solana, in the Town of Westlake. The following were present: Dale L. White, Mayor Alvin Oien, Mayor Pro Tem Sherry Dudley, Alderman Howard Dudley, Alderman Jerry Moore, Alderman Fred Held, Alderman Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney Gerry White, Secretary Also in attendance were Scott Bradley, Planning & Zoning Chairman, Bud Hauptmann, Town Engineer, Land Planners Dennis Wilson and Roland Jackson, attorney Eldridge Goins, Doug Kusel, Pat Atkins, Carter Pate and Mike Castleman, Mrs. Kelly Bradley, Ms. Barbara Marks, Ms. Helen Trimarchi and Ms. Margaret Sherman. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 7:08.p.m. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read. Item #1. Ms. Helen Trimarchi, Director ofthe Roanoke Public Library addressed the Board and then introduced Psis. Margaret Sherman. Ms. Trimarchi and Ms. Sherman told the history of the library and the need for money to start a building fund and to continue operation of the library. Item #2. Consideration of a donation to the Roanoke Public Library. Alderman Jerry Moore moved to make a donation in t71e amount of $2,5000.00 to the Roanoke Library, Alderman Alvin Oien i9econded the motion and it was adopted unanimously. Item 0. Presentation from Mrs. Kelly Bradley, Founder and Director of the Roanoke Meals On Wheels, and Ms. Barbara Marks. Mrs. Bradley started the Meals on Wheels program on April 1, 1980. At present there are 130 volunteers who prepare and deliver meals to 15 seniors in the community. In addition there is a luncheon at the Senior Center on Wednesday. The group would like to start a building fund in hope of having a permanent center in the future. Item #4. Consideration of a donation to Meals On Wheels. Motion by Alderman Sherry Dudley to donate the sum of $2,500.00 the the Meals On Wheels, Alderman Fred Held seconded and the motion was adopted unanimously. Item #5. Presentation from representatives for R. Carter Pate, Trustee, concerning the proposed Comprehensive Plan of the Town. Mr. Doug Kusel gave a slide presentation showing the manner in which a town, Fair Oaks, in Virginia has been and is being developed. Mr. Kusel introduced Mr. Mike Castleman, Chairman, American Metro Study Corporation, Inc. Mr. Castleman also had 20 Regular Meeting January 6, 1992 a slide presentation showing an analysis of planned office park development in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. According to Mr. Castleman there is no need for office space in this area. No action taken. There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was adjourned. APPROVED: DALE L.
