HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-09-89 TC Min89 MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS A Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas was held on the 9th day of May, 1989 at the Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The following were present: Dale L. White, Mayor Howard Dudley, Mayor Pro Tem Sherry Dudley, Alderman A.F. Oien, Alderman Jerry Moore, Alderman Carroll Huntress, Alderman Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney Bud Hauptmann, Town Engineer Gerry White, Town Secretary The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read. Item #1. Canvass returns of the election held on May 6, 1989. Results of the election were read by the Secretary. For Alderman: Jerry N. Moore - 23 votes A. F. Oien - 21 votes Carroll P. Huntress - 23 votes City Sales and. Use Tax: For - 24 votes Against - 0 votes Motion was made by Alderman Sherry Dudley to adopt Ordinance #177, an ordinance canvassing returns of the election held on May 6, 1989, to elect three (3) aldermen and to vote on a City Sales and Use Tax. Motion was seconded by Alderman Howard Dudley, voted on and carried unanimously. A copy of Ordinance #177 is attached to and made a part of these minutes. Item #2. The Oath of Office was administered to the successful candidates. Item #3. Consideration of a sign permit to erect two (2) signs on the Chili's restaurant at 3 Village Circle. Motion was made by Alderman Alvin Oien to approve the sign permit applied for with the stipulation that they conform to regulations set forth in the existing sign ordinance #159. Motion was seconded by Alderman Howard Dudley, voted on and carried by unanimous vote. Item #4. Consideration of a sign permit to erect a sign on the Town and Country Cleaners. Motion made by Alderman Alvin Oien to .approve the sign permit applied for with the stipulation that applicants conform to regulations set forth in the existing sign Ordinance #159. Motion was seconded by Alderman Carroll Huntress.Motion carried by unanimous vote. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Attest: Gerry White, Secretary Approved: Dale L.
