MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS
A Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of
Westlake, Texas was held on the 6th day of March, 1989 at the
Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The following were
present:
Dale L. White, Mayor
Howard Dudley, Mayor Pro Tem
Sherry Dudley, Alderman
Alvin Oien, Alderman
Jerry Moore, Alderman
Paul Isham, Town Attorney
Bud Hauptmann, Town Engineer
Gerry White, Secretary
Absent: Carroll Huntress, Alderman
Also in attendance were Mr. Tom Allen and Mr. Richard Kuhlman,
Maguire Thomas representatives.
Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and
approved as read.
Item #1. Consideration of a request from Maguire/Thomas for a
variance on the width of the service road behind the proposed
Marriott Hotel. Motion by.Alderman Alvin Oien, seconded by
Alderman Howard Dudley to grant a variance on the width of the
of the service road behind the Marriott to 15 feet as requested.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Item #2. Consideration of a request from Maguire/Thomas for a
variance from Ordinance No. 143, Section 2c regarding the entrance
to a restaurant at the proposed Marriott Hotel. Motion made by
Alderman Alvin Oien, seconded by Alderman Sherry Dudley to grant,
as requested by Maguire/Thomas, a variance from Ordinance No. 143,
Section 2c regarding the entrance to a restaurant in the hotel..
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Item #3. Consideration to a resolution to the State Highway
Department that the Town of Westlake is opposed to the "South
Alternate" Roanoke By-Pass.0 Motion made by Alderman Howard
Dudley, seconded by Alderman Alvin Oien to pass and approve
Resolution #3'-'89, a resolution that the Town of Westlake is
tatally against and vehemently opposed to the "South Alternate"
as the alignment for the Roanoke By -Pass. Motion carried by
unanimous vote.
Item #4. Consideration of a Liquor License Ordinance. Motion
by Alderman Alvin Dien, seconded by Alderman Howard Dudley to

adopt Ordinance #175, the Liquor License Ordinance of the
Town of Westlake. Alderman Alvin Oien, Alderman Howard Dudley,
Alderman Sherry Dudley voted for the Ordindance. Alderman
Jerry Moore voted against. Motion carried by majority.
Item #5. Consideration of an Ordinance granting Lone Star Gas
Company a franchise to furnish and supply gas within the
Town of Westlake. Motion by Alderman Sherry Dudley, seconded
by Alderman Alvin Oien to adopt Ordinance '4176, an Ordinance
to Lone Star Gas Company a franchise to furnish and supply gas
within the Town of Westlake. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
There being no further business to come before the Board of
Aldermen, the meeting was adjourned.
