TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS
A Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of
Westlake, Texas was held on the 6th day of February, 1989
at the Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The
following were present:
Dale L. White, Mayor
Howard Dudley, Mayor Pro Tem
Sherry Dudley, Alderman
Alvin Oien, Alderman
Carroll Huntress, Alderman
Jerry Moore, Alderman
Gerry White, Secretary
Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney
Mr. Tom Allen and Mr. Edward Walts Maguire/Thomas representatives,
and Mr. Garry Terry from Southwestern Bell were also in attendance.
Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and
approved as read.
Item #1. Discussion of an ordinance dealing with the sale of
alcoholic beverages in the Town of Westlake. No action was
taken.
Item #2. Mr. Garry Terry, Southwestern Bell Area Manager
External Affairs addressed the Board regarding "Texas First".
Discussion and a question and answer period followed. Motion
was.made by Alderman Carroll Huntress, seconded by Alderman
Alvin Oien to pass and approve Resolution #2-89, a resolution
supporting Southwestern Bell's "Texas First". Motion carried
by unanimous vote.
Item #3. Consideration of an ordinance calling an election
for the adoption of a City sales tax. Motion was made by
Alderman Alvin Oien, seconded by Alderman Carroll Huntress to
adopt ordinance #173, an ordinance calling an election on the
6th day of May, 1989, to vote on a city sales and use tax.
Motion carried by unanimous vote. The Ordinancef'. was adopted.
Item #4. Consideration of an ordinance calling for the election
of three Alderman to the Town of Westlake, Texas. Motion was
made by Alderman Alvin Oien, seconded by Alderman Howard Dudley
to adopt Ordinance #174, an ordinance calling for an election
on the 6th day of May, 1989, to elect three aldermen for the
Town of Westlake. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
The meeting was adjourned.
