TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS
A Regular Meeting of the.Board of Aldermen of the Town of
Westlake, Texas was held on the 9th day of January, 1989 at
the Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The follow-
ing were present:
Dale L. White, Mayor
Sherry Dudley, Alderman
Alvin Oien, Alderman
Carroll Huntress, Alderman
Gerry White, Secretary
Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney
Absent:
Howard Dudley, Mayor Pro Tem
Jerry Moore, Alderman
Also Present: Mr. Tom Allen, Maguire/Thomas.
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m.
Minutes of the two previous meetings were read by the Secretary
and approved as read.
Item #1. Consideration of a resolution regarding the runway
length at Alliance Airport. ration by Alderman Alvin Oien,
seconded by Alderman Carrol to pass and approve Resolution #1-89,
a Resolution supporting the extension of a runway at Alliance
Airport. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Item #2. Consideration of a Food Service Ordinance. Motion
by Alderman Alvin Oien, seconded by Alderman Carroll Huntress
to adopt Ordinance #172, a Food Service ordinance. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
Item #3. Motion by Alderman Alvin Oien, seconded by Alderman
Carroll Huntress to approve a contract with Tarrant County to
provide a food establishment surveillance program. Motion
carried by unanimous vote. Contract approved.
Item #4. Consideration of an ordinance calling an election
for the adoption of a City sales tax. Discussion. Alderman Oien
moved to approve the ordinance. Motion died for lack of a
second. Alderman Sherry Dudley moved to table. Motion seconded
by Alderman Carroll Huntress. Alderman Sherry Dudley and Alder-
man Huntress voted fdr the motion.. Alderman Alvin Oien voted
against. Motion carried by majority.
There being no further business to come before the Board the
meeting was adjourned.
