HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-02-87 TC MinMEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS A Regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of The Town of Westlake, Texas was held at 7:OO p.m. on the 2nd day of November, 1987 at the Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The following were present: Dale L. White, Mayor Alvin F. Oien, Mayor Pro Tem Sherry Dudley, Alderman Carroll Huntress, Alderman Ralph Rampellini, Alderman Gerry White, Secretary Absent: Howard Dudley, Alderman Also Present: Scott Bradley, Chairman, Planning and Zoning Sanford "Bud" Hauptman, Town Engineer The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read. Item #1. Consider participation in "North Tarrant County Freeway" route and environmental studies. Motion was made by Alderman Carroll Huntress, seconded by Alderman Alvin Oien that the Town of Westlake participate in the funding of the route study for the North Tarrant County Freeway in the amount of $102.00. Motion carride unanimously. Item #2. Consider contributing to the Texas Municipal League's intervention in the litigation of Sportmen's Club of Texas, Sierra Club and Environmental Defense Fund, Inc. V. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. After discussion motion was made by Alderman Alvin Oien, seconded by Alderman Carroll Huntress to table the subject for further study. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Item #3. Consider "Kirkwood Boulevard" as the name of the main road through the IBM development. Motion was made by Alderman Carroll Huntress, seconded by Alderman Sherry Dudley to approve the name "Kirkwood Boulevard" as the name of the main road through the IBM development. Alderman Carroll Huntress, Alderman Sherry Dudley and Alderman Ralph Rampellini voted for the motion. Alderman .Alvin Dien abstained. Motion carried by .majority. Item #4, Discussion of the future water demands of Westlake. No action was taken. Item #5. There was discussion regarding a letter received from a Robert W. Creekmur, an investigator, who claims to have knowledge that the Town of Westlake may be heir to $3,161.98. Motion was made by Alderman Sherry Dudley, seconded by Alderman Carroll Huntress Regular Meeting November 2, 1987 Page 2 instructing the Secretary to notarize the agreement, signed by Alderman Alvin Oien on behalf of the Town of Westlake, and return the agreement to Mr. Creekmur so that he may continue his investi- gation. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Item #6. Deleted since Westlake is covered by Tarrant County 911. Item V. Discussion of a cable TV system. No action was taken on this subject at this time.
