MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS
A Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake,
Texas was held at 7:00 p.m. on the 6th day of July, 1987 at the
Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The following were
present:
Dale L. White, Mayor
Alvin F. Oien, Jr., Mayor Pro Tem
Sherry A. Dudley, Alderman
Howard Dudley, Alderman
Carroll P. Huntress, Alderman
Ralph Rampellini, Alderman
Gerry White, Secretary
Scott Bradley, Planning and Zoning Commissioner
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m..
Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and
approved as read.
IBM representatives, Mr. Edward Walts and Mr. Tom Allen brought the
Board up to date on progress being made on the IBM project in Westlake.
Mr. Bud Hauptmann, the Town's Engineer, was also present and dis-
cussed road construction at the IBM site with the Aldermen.
Item #1. Perot Group representative, Ms. Robin Roark, spoke regarding
changes projected for the proposed airport near Haslet. No action
was taken by the Board. The Mayor will consult the Town Attorney.
Item #2. Consideration of an Ordinance establishing an Emergency
Management Program. Motion was made by Alderman Alvin Oien, seconded
by Alderman Howard Dudley to pass and approve 'Ordinance #165 , an
Ordinance establishing an Emergency Management Program. Motion carried
by unanimous vote.
Item #3. Consideration of an ordinance establishing a Construction
and Sign Application and Fee Schedule. After discussion motion
was made by Alderman Carroll Huntress, seconded by Alderman Alvin
Oien to table any action on the proposed ordinance until the final
draft, reflecting changes has been completed. Motion carried by
unanimous vote.
Item #4. Consideration of a Resolution in support of the creation
of an Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency District for Denton County. Motion
was made by Alderman Alvin Oien, seconded by Alderman Howard Dudley
to pass and approve Resolution #'6'-'8'7, a Resolution in support of
the creation of an Enhanced 9-1- Emergency District for beriton
County. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Item #5. Motion was made by Alderman Howard Dudley, seconded by
Alderman Sherry Dudley to change the date of the General Election from
the first Saturday in April to the third Saturday in May in accordance

with subsection (a), Section 41.0001, Election Code, as amended.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
