HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-02-85 TC MinMEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas was held at 7:00 p.m., January 2, 1985 at the Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The following were present: Dale L. White, Mayor Jerry N. Moore, Mayor Pro Tem Sherry A. Dudley, Alderman Kelly P. Bradley, Alderman Howard Dudley, Alderman Absent: Alvin F. Oien, Jr., Alderman Also Present: Scott Bradley, Chairman, Planning and Zoning B. J. Minyard, Planning and Zoning Gerry White, Secretary Representatives of Trophy Club Homeowners Association, Independent American management and salespeople and several Trophy Club residents were also present. The Mayor called the,meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read. Mayor White said that the seconded ajenda item , discussion on the school district issue, would be addressed first. Alderman Jerry Moore asked that any information obtained regarding creating an independent school district be presented -since that was the reason the resolution granting Westlake's written consent for the incorporation of Trophy Club was tabled at the December 3rd, 1984 meeting. At the conclusion of the lengthy discussion and question and answer period that followed between the governing body of Westlake and interested parties present, the majority of the Board of Aldermen felt that the school district issue is a very important matter that needs further study but should not postpone the Trophy Club incorporation efforts any longer. Alderman Howard Dudley moved to adopt the Resolution #48, a resolution granting permission for the residents in Trophy Club to initiate incorporation proceedings for the incorporation of Trophy Club as a town. Alderman Jerry Moore seconded. Alderman Howard Dudley, Alderman Jerry Moore and Alderman Sherry Dudley voted for the motion. Alderman Kelly Bradley abstained. Motion carried by majority. Alderman Bradley asked that the record show she approves the incorporation but not at this time because of the school district issue. Mayor White adjourned the meeting. White, Mayor 633 ■ Regular Meeting January 2, 1985 Page 2 At the conclusion of the regular meeting an informal discussion took place regard- ing the alledged power lines to be installed by Texas Power and Light. The Council agreed with Alderman Kelly Bradley's suggestion fo form a committee to study the power line problem. Kelly Bradley, Scott Bradley and Kerry Elliott (subject to her approval) will form the committee and report results to the Board of Aldermen at the February 4, 1985 meeting. 6 3 �
