TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS
A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake,
Texas was held at 4:00 p.m., December 10, 1984 at the Dudley Ranch
in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The following were present:
Dale L. White, Mayor
Jerry N. Moore, Mayor Pro Tem
Kelly P. Bradley, Alderman
Sherry A. Dudley, Alderman
Alvin F. Oien, Jr., Alderman
Gerry White, Secretary
Scott Bradley, Chairman, Planning and Zoning Commission
Absent:
Howard Dudley, Alderman
Also present: Judy Moore, Westlake resident
Ralph and Vonnie Carpenter, Westlake residents
Mayor White called the meeting to order at 4:20 p.m.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and
approved as amended.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the pros and cons of
creating a school district. Mayor White and Scott Bradley shared
information they had obtained from the Texas Education Code Agency,
Texas State Statutes and other sources with those present. The
Board of Aldermen discussed the extensive information presented.
Alderman Jerry Moore moved to extend the meeting fifteen minutes
past the schedualed closing. Alderman Sherry Dudley seconded.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor White was instructed by the Board of Aldermen to contact
representatives of Mr. Bunker Hunt, IBM and local school district
officials to see if they would be in support of an independent
school district.
Alderman Kelly Bradley moved to hold another meeting to discuss
the school district issue at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 1985. Seconded
by Alderman Sherry Dudley. Motion carried unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned.
