HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-09-84 TC MinMEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS A Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas was held at 7:00 p.m. on April 9, 1984 at the Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The following were present: Dale L. White, Mayor Alvin F. Oien Jr., Mayor Pro Tem Howard Dudley, Alderman Jerry N. Moore, Alderman Kelly P. Bradley, Alderman Sherry A. Dudley, Alderman Gerry White, Secretary Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read. Mr. Mike Porter and Mr. Roger Brown were present representing Independent American and Trophy Club. Mayor White read a letter addressed to the Board of Aldermen from Planning and Zoning Commissioner Mr. Scott Bradley. The letter stated that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the revised final plat of Section 12 in Trophy Club. Motion was made by Alderman Sherry Dudley, seconded by Alderman Alvin Oien to approved the revised final plat of Section 12 in Trophy Club, as submitted. Motion was voted on and carried by unanimous vote. Mr. Deryl Landes, Mr. Larry Foster and Mr. Ken Locker were in attendence representing a group of people who are requesting re- lease from Westlake's extraterritorial jurisdiction. This group is also expressing interest in incorporating a proposed town to be called Rocky Top. After a lengthy discussion, motion was made by Alderman Howard Dudley, seconded by Alderman Alvin Oien to table any action on this subject until the next meeting. Motion carried by unanimous vote. The Board agreed that the date of the next regular meeting on the Council would be changed to May 2, 1984. The Secretary read the results of the election held April 7, 1984. FOR MAYOR: Dale L. Dudley 14 votes Howard Dudley 14 votes 6 -z3 ii Regular meeting April 9, 1984 Page 2 FOR TOWN MARSHAL: Bill Foster 2 write in votes Motion was made by Alderman Kelly Bradley, seconded by Alderman Jerry Moore to accept the canvass of the election results. Motion carried by unanimous vote. The Secretary then administered the Oath of Office to the successful candidates. Motion was made by Alderman Howard Dudley, seconded by Alderman Kelly Bradley to appoint Alderman Jerry Moore Mayor Pro Tem. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
