TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS
The Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas met in
Regular Session at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 1984 at the Dudley
Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The following were present:
Dale L. White, Mayor
Sherry A. Dudley, Alderman
Alvin F. Oien Jr., Mayor Pro Tem
Kelly P. Bradley, Alderman
Jerry N. Moore, Alderman
Absent:
Howard Dudley, Alderman
Also present:
Scott Bradley, Chairman, Planning and Zoning Commission
Gerry White, Secretary
Mr. Bob Gunther, President, Independent American Development Co.
Mr. Mike Porter, Project Director, Trophy Club
Mr. B. L. Nelson, Engineer
Mrs. Connie White, Trophy Club Homeowners Association
Mayor White called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and
approved as read.
Planning and Zoning Chairman, Mr. Scott Bradley, displayed the
revised final plat of the Plantation of Trophy Club,(formerly
called Plantation West of Trophy Club) and the revised final plat
of the Greens of Trophy Club to the Council for study. Mr Bradley,
Mr. Nelson and Mr. Gunther brought attention to the changes made
to the plats so that they would conform to the Town of Westlake's
Ordinance #80. Mr. Bradley also reported that the
Planning and Zoning Board met with two (2) members pre-
sent and voted 2 - 0 to recommend approval of the final plat of
the Plantation of Trophy Club and also recommends granting a vari-
ance to Ordinance #80. The Planning and Zoning Board also recommends
approval of the final plat of the Greens of Trophy Club.
After examination of the Plats and discussion of same, motion was
made by Alderman Jerry Moore, seconded by Alderman Kelly Bradley
to approve the final plat of the Plantation of Trophy Club subject
to the following:
1. A variance is granted reducing side yard requirements
from 20 feet to 17.5 feet at the second story level.
2. Filing in the Deed Records of Denton County, Texas of an
agreement of the developers to close the place of ingress and
egress through the private drive and utility easement of the
Indian Creek Townhomes plat previously approved.
Alderman Jerry Moore, Alderman Kelly Bradley and Alderman Sherry
Dudley voted for the motion. Alderman Alvin Oien voted against
the motion. Motion carried by majority.
Motion was made by Alderman Kelly Bradley,

Alderman Bradley, Alderman Sherry Dudley and Alderman Jerry
Moore voted for the motion. Alderman Alvin Oien voted against
the motion. Motion carried by majority.
Mr. Bob Gunther, President, Independent American Development
Company, addressed the Council and informed them that the
Independent American Group, owners of Trophy Club, have fulfilled
commitments made previously to Westlake's Board of Aldermen.
Mr. Gunther said Trophy Club residents have been appointed to
the Trophy Club Community Improvement Association. These residents
are Mr. Larry Best and Mr. Bill McLaughlin. Additionally, Mr.
Charles Martin has been appointed as a member of the Architectural
Control Committee. Also Independent American has provided the
Trophy Club residents with Community Improvement Association
financial records. A copy of a letter to the Mayor from Mr.Gunther
is attached to these minutes and made a part thereof.
Motion was made by Alderman Alvin Dien, seconded by Alderman Jerry
Moore to pass and approve Ordinance #132, an Ordinance by the
Town Council of Westlake, Texas calling and ordering an election
to be held on the 7th day of April, 1984 for the purpose of
electing a Mayor, two Aldermen and a Town Marshal for the Town;
establishing the hours and place for said election; providing
for the posting in three public places in the Town of Westlake
as notice of said election; directing the Town Secretary to
make up the official ballots, causing the same to be printed
and delivered to the presiding officer; providing for the
canvassing of the returns of the election and declaring the
results of same by the Town Council, and declaring an effective
date. Motion was voted on and carried unanimously.
