HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-03-82 TC MinMEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS An Emergency Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas was held at 7:00 p.m. on May 3, 1982 at the Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The following members were present. Dale L. White, Mayor Jerry N. Moore, Mayor Pro Tem Howard Dudley, Alderman Sherry A. Dudley, Alderwoman Alvin F. Oien Jr., Alderman Kelly P. Bradley, Alderwoman Also Present: Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney Scott Bradley, Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman William Foster, Planning and Zoning Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read. Mr. Richard Ward addressed the Board regarding a house he is building in the Shelby Estates Subdivision in Westlake. The house is to be Mr. Ward's own residence upon completion. Mr. Ward re- quested that the Board grant a variance to Ordinance # 67, the Town's plumbing ordinance. After considerable discussion between the Board and Mr. Ward, and_.due---to the -especial -circumstances presented to the Board of Aldermen . Alderwoman -Sherry--A:-Dudley moved that a variance of the Town's Ordinance #67 (Plumbing Regulations) be granted to Mr. Richard Ward. Motion was seconded by Alderman Alvin F. Oien Jr. Alderwoman Sherry Dudley, Alderman Alvin Oien Jr., and Alderwoman Kelly Bradley voted for the motion. Alderman Howard Dudley voted against the motion. Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Moore abstained. Motion carried. The next adjenda item regarded the Country Acres Estates. It has come to the attention of the Town of Westlake that Roanoke's annex- ation of the property known as Country Acres Estates is void since the property is not contiguous with the town of Roanoke and since a part of Westlake lies between Roanoke and Country Acres Estates. Alderman Alvin F. Oien Jr. moved to instruct the Town Attorney, Mr. Paul C. Isham, to seek injunctive relief on behalf of the Town of Westlake against Country Acres Estates. Alderwoman Sherry Dudley seconded the motion. Motion was voted on and carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned.
