HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-26-81 TC MinMEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS A regular meeting of eht Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas was held on February 26, 1981 at 7:00 p.m, at the Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake. The following were present: Dale L. White, Mayor Howard Dudley, Mayor Pro Tem Alvin F. Oien Jr., Alderman Sherry A. Dudley, Alderman Jerry N. Moore, Alderman Kelly Pace Bradley, Alderman Gerry White, Town Secretary Scott Bradley, Chairman, Planning Ted Elder, Marshal and Zoning Commission Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read. Mr. Vernie R. Henderson, Lone Star Gas Company representative, was present to discuss Lone Star's request for an increase in rates. After a question and answer period Mayor Pro Tem Howard Dudley moved to pass and approve Ordinance #118 (An Ordinance fixing and determining the general service rate to be charged for sales of natural gas to residential and commercial consumers in the Town of Westlake, Tarrant County Texas; providing for the manner in which such rate may be changed, adjusted, and amended, providing for surcharge; and providing for a schedule of service charges.), contingent on Grapevine's passage of an Ordinance accepting the same rates set out in Town of Westlake's Ordinance #118; the Board further directed the Mayor to sign Ordinance #118 after Grapevine's approval; effective date of Ordinance #118 will be after Grapevine passes an ordinance accepting the same rates set out in Ordinance #118. Motion was seconded by Alderman Sherry Dudley. Mayor Pro Tem Howard Dudley, Alderman Sherry Dudley, Alderman Jerry Moore, and Alderman Kelly Bradley voted for the motion. Alderman Alvin F. Oien voted against the motion. Motion carried by a majority. Planning and Zoning Commissioner Scott Bradl��cc. submiPt d a recommendation to the Board of Aldermen that the Board approve the41At oP tAie Zichard Ward, Trustee Subdivision subject fo conditions laid out A the recommendation ( a copy of the recommendation and conditions is attatched to these minutes and made a part thereof) Mr. Richard Ward was present and discussion with the Council concerning the sub- division followed. Mr. Ward will look into the matter of street types further and return before the Council at a future meeting. Alderman Sherry Dudley moved to pass and approve Ordinance #119, an ordinance by the Town Council of the Town of Westlake, Texas calling and ordering an election to be held on the 4th day of April, 1981, for the purpose of electing three (3) Aldermen for the Town of Westlake, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 978 1144 V.T.C.S.; establishing the hours and place for the election; providing for the posting in three public places in the Town of Westlake as notice of said election; directing the Town Secretary to make up the official ballots causing the same to be printed and delivered to the presiding officer; providing for the canvassing of the returns of the said election and declaring the results of same by the Town Council, and declaring an effective date.
