HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-18-80 TC MinMEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS MARCH 18, 1980 A regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Westlake, Texas was held at 7:30 p.m., on March 18, 1980, at the Dudley Ranch in the Town of Westlake, Texas. The following were present. Dale L. White, Mayor Howard Dudley, Mayor Pro Tem Alvin F. Oien Jr., Alderman Sherry A. Dudley, Councilwoman Jerry N. Moore, Alderman Kelly P. Bradley, Councilwoman Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney Gerry White, Town Secretary Also present: Scott Bradley, Chairman, Planning and Zoning Commission The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The Secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting. The minutes were approved as read. Mr. Norman Tobleman, Project manager of Lake Forest Village, displayed the plat of Phase 4 at Lake Forest Village, and the design concept of the street area in which the developers of Lake Forest Village are requesting a variance, was also shown and the reasons for the request were explained. It is the contention of the developers that, due to the terrain, the plan would avoid a drainage problem. After studying the plat and the design concept and a discussion among the Council, Councilwoman Sherry Dudley moved that the final plat of Phase 4 at Lake Forest Village be approved, subject to the concurrance of the Planning and Zoning Commission; that a specific variance be granted to allow the minimum pavement width to be 21 feet, instead of 24 feet as otherwise required by Article 4. c(2) of Ordinance #80; and that the Mayor be authorized to sign the Plat. Councilwoman Kelly Bradley seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. Mayor Pro Tem Howard Dudley moved that the Board approve the agreement between the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation and the Town of Westlake, Texas, granting the State permission to survey, inspect, appraise and inventory bridges on public roads in the Town of Westlake. Motion was seconded by Councilwoman Sherry Dudley, voted on and carried by a unanimous vote. The Mayor then opened the Public Hearing. No citizens appeared for or against the proposition. Mr. Scott Bradley, Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission, appeared on behalf of that Commission and recommended to the Council that the amendment be adopted. The Public Hearing was then closed. There was discussion among the Council members regarding the recommendation. gyps— 7 Regular Meeting March 18, 1980 Page 2 Alderman Alvin F. Oien Jr. moved to pass and approve Ordinance #116 , an Ordinance to the Town of Westlake, Texas, amending Ordinance #49, Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of 1972, as amended , by amending Article IV, Section 2B "Building Regulations, Lot Size"; and declaring an effective date. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Kelly Bradley. Alderman Oien, Mayor Pro Tem Howard Dudley, Councilwoman Kelly Bradley and Councilwoman Sherry Dudley voted for the motion. Alderman Jerry N.
