TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS
The Town Council of the Town of Westlake, Texas met in regular session at 7:30 p.m.,
on November 29, 1979 at the Dudley Ranch in Westlake. The following members were
present:
Dale L. White, Mayor
O. R. Carpenter, Alderman
Howard Dudley, Alderman
Sherry A. Dudley, Alderman
Jerry N. Moore, Alderman
Alvin F. Oien Jr., Alderman
Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney
Gerry White, Town Secretary
Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
The Secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting, which were approved as
read.
Mayor White then opened discussion on the proposed Cripple Creek Estates. This
subject was tabled at the previous meeting for further study. Mr. Derrell Johnson,
Mr. Jim Hudson, Mr. John Levitt, and Mr. Millard Dilg, all associated with the
Cripple Creek Estates project were present and were still requesting variances
from the Town of Westlake Ordinances and approval of their preliminary plat.
Discussion followed after which Alderman Oien made the following motion.:
Whereas, The Town of Westlake has a comprehensive plan for development, which
includes zoning for low density, High density, retail, and industrail areas; and
Whereas, considerable time and effort have been spent in the preparation of the
zoning, building, and subdivision ordinances, and to vary from the street
requirements stated in the Town's Subdivision Ordinance, will place an unjust
burden on the Town at a later date; I therefore move do disapprove the Cripple
Creek Estates preliminary plat. Motion was seconded by Howard Dudley. Board
members Alvin Oien, Howard Dudley, O. R. Carpenter, and Sherry Dudley voted
for the motion. Alderman Jerry Moore abstained. Motion carried.
Mr. Jim Hudson requested that the town return the money paid when the plat
was filed with the Planning and Zoning Commission for consideration. The Town
is under no obligation to return the money, but the Council agreed unanimously
to return Mr. Hudson's money.
;'he next adjenda item concerned the Tarrant County Housing Assistance Program.
Alderman Alvin Oien moved to advise the Tarrant County Housing Office that the
Town of Westlake does not support the Tarrant County Title 11 Section 8 Housing
Assistance Application and is not willing to participate in the County program.
Alderman Howard Dudley seconded the motion. Motion was voted on and carried
unanimously.

Regular meeting
Alderman Howard Dudley moved to pass Ordinance #109, an Ordinance altering the
speed limits upon certain streets and highways or parts thereof, within the
corporate limits of the Town of Westlake. Sherry Dudley seconded the motion.
Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was
adjourned.
