HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-15-79 TC MinMEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS The Town Council of the Town of Westlake, Texas met in regular session at 7:3o p.m., August 15, 1979, at the Dudley Ranch in Westlake, Texas. The following were present. Dale L. White, Mayor Howard Dudley, Mayor Pro Tem Jerry N. Moore, Alderman Sherry A. Dudley, Alderwoman Kelly P. Bradley, Alderwoman Absent: Alvin F. Oien Jr., Alderman Also Present: Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney Gerry White, Town Secretary William Foster, Chairman Planning and Zoning Commissioner Leo Fikes, Planning and Zoning Commission Scott Bradley, Planning and Zoning Commission Mayor White called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secretary and approved at read. Mr. Gary Sheffield, General Manager of Trophy Club, and Mr. Bill Bell of Carter and Burgess Engineering Firm were present. Mr. Sheffield came before the Council requesting approval of the final plats for Section A and Section B of Village West at Trophy Club. Village West Section A consists of 137 lots and Section B contains 245 lots. After studying the plats it was determined that the Mayor's signature portion of the plat needed to be modified to conform to the Town's Sub -division Ordinance regarding Trophy Club. After discussion Mayor Pro Tem Dudley moved to authorize the Mayor to sign the plats for Trophy Club Village West, Section A and Section B, after the signature portion of the plat has been modified to conform to the Ordinance. Motion was seconded by Alderwoman Sherry Dudley, voted on and carried unanimously. Lone Star Gas representative Mr. Vernie Henderson, informed the Council that Grapevine had passed an ordinance granting Lone Star Gas a rate increase 540 less than Lone Star had asked for. Mr, Henderson stated that he would recommend that the Lone Star Gas Company accept this. Alderman Moore made a motion to approve Ordinance #113, an Ordinance fixing and determining general service rates for natural gas sales to residential and commercial customers in the Town of Westlake in accordance with rates set out in the Ordinance. Alderwoman Kelly Bradley seconded the motion which was voted on and carried unanimously. S77 r Page 2 Regular meeting August 15, 1979 The next item on the adjenda concerned the Town's position regarding Tarrant County's Section 8 Housing Assistance Program. Mayor Pro Tem Dudley moved to advise the Tarrant County Housing Office that the Town of Westlake, Texas does not support the Tarrant County Title 11 Section 8 Housing Assistance Application and is not willing to participate in the County Program. Motion was seconded by Alderwoman Sherry Dudley, voted on and carried unanimously. Mayor White asked Mr. Paul Isham, the Town's Attorney to inform the members of the Council of the nature of the lawsuit brought against the Town by the developers of the proposed Cripple Creek Estates, and the proper proceedures to be followed in answering the lawsuit. Following a general discussion Mayor Pro Tem Dudley moved to direct the Town Attorney, Mr. Isham, to file an answer to the lawsuit. Alderman Jerry Moore seconded the motion.
