TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS
The Town Council of the Town of Westlake, Texas met in regular session at 7:00 p.m.,
on April 3, 1978 at the Dudley Ranch in Westlake. The following members were in
attendance.
Dale L. White, Mayor
0. R. Carpenter, Alderman
Sherry A. Dudley, Alderwoman
Jerry N. Moore, Alderman
Alvin F. Offen, Alderman
William Foster, Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman
Ted Elder, Town Marshal
Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney
Gerry White, Town Secretary
Absent:
Howard Dudley
Mayor White called the meeting to order a 7:00 p.m.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.
Motion was made by Alderwoman Dudley to pass and approve Ordinance #105 , calling
for the canvassing of election returns of the election held April 1, 1978; seconded
by Alderman Carpenter. Motion was voted on and carried unanimously.
The Secretary then read the results of the election.
For Mayor: Dale L. White - 13 votes
For Alderman: Sherry A. Dudley - 13 votes
Howard Dudley - 13 votes
Jerry N. Moore - 12 votes
Alvin F. Oien Jr. - 12 votes
For Marshal: Ted A. Elder - 7 votes
The Secretary then administered the oath of office to the successful candidates.
Alderman Howard Dudley was unanimously appointed Mayor Pro Tem on a motion by
Alderman Carpenter; Seconded by Alderman Moore.
Alderman Jerry Moore moved to pass and approve Ordinance #106, an ordinance re-
gulating the subdivision of land; requiring and regulating the preparation and
presentation of preliminary and final plats for such purpose; establishing minimum'
subdivision design standards providing minimum improvements to be made or
guaranteed to be merle by the subdivider; setting forth the procedure to be followed;
and prescribing penalties for the violation thereof. Alderman Alvin Oien seconded
the motion. Discussion followed. Motion was voted on and carried unanimously.

Regular Meeting
The Town Attorney informed the Council of his conversations and correspondence
with Lone Star Gas Company regarding their overpayment to the Town for street
and alley rental for the years 1974, 1975 and 1976, based on 1973, 1974 and 1975
overstated revenue because of showing customers inside the city limits that are
actually outside the city limits.
After a discussion a motion was made by Alderman Carpenter to enter into an
agreement with Lone Star Gas, to allow them to deduct the annual gross receipts
tax from overpayment until such overpayment of $1,849.51 is recovered, and to
authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement to that effect; Alderwoman Dudley
seconded the motion. Motion was voted on and carried unanimously.
Business was concluded and the meeting was adjourned .
