HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-03-77 TC MinMEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS An emergency meeting of the Board of Aldermen was held at 5100 p.m. on August 39 1977 at the Dudley Ranch in Westlake, Texas. The following were presents Dale L. White, Mayor Howard Dudley, Mayor Pro Tem B. H. Campbell, Alderman 0. R. Carpenter, Alderman Paul C. Isham, Town Attorney Leo Fikes, Planning and Zoning Commission Gerrit, White , Town Secretary Mayor White called the meeting to order at 5100 p.m. The Secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting. The minutes were approved as read. There was discussion concerning Lone Star Gas Company's request for a rate increase after which Alderman Campbell moved to pass and approve Ordinance #1019 an Ordinance of the Town of Westlake, Texas fixing and determining the general service rate to be charged for sales of natural gas to residential and commercial consumers within the Town limits of Westlake, Tarrant County and Denton County, Texas, and providing for the manner in which such rate may be changed, adjusted and amended, and declaring an emergency. Motion was seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Dudley, voted on and carried unanimously. Councilman Bob Smith from Bartonville displayed a map and petition requesting the Town of Westlake to waive their extraterritorial jurisdiction so that the limits of the Town of Bartonville could be extended. A motion was made by Alderman Campbell that Resolution #47 be passed by the Town of Westlake consenting to the extension of the Town of Bartonville insofar as it overlaps with the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the Town of Westlake. Alderman Carpenter seconded the motion which was voted on and carried unanimously. Councilman Smith informed those present that a new map , with the Town of Bartonville's new boundaries would be made soon. Mayor White requested a copy of the map to place with the records of the Town of Westlake. The Board then had a lengthy discussion regarding a request from the Texas Airport System Plan that the Town support a request that the Commissioners Court apply for a Federal grant to fund a study to determine the location and, design of a general aviation airport to serve Northeast Tarrant County= and also requesting the Court to sponser and furnish matching funds for such a study. Alderman Campbell moved to table the subject for further study. Motion was seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Dudley voted and carried unanimously. The Town Secretary was instructed to invite a member of the Texas Airport System to the next Town Meeting. August 3, 1977 Emergency Meeting Page 2 Since Alderman Arvel Tate has moved from the Town of Westlake, a motion was made by Alderman Campbell that Sherry Dudley be appointed to fill Mr...Tate's place on the Council. Alderman Carpenter seconded the motion. Aldermen Campbell and Carpenter voted for the morion. Mayor Pro Tem Dudley abstained. Discussion was held on the proposed plat of the Carpenter addition after which the Mayor instructed the Town Attorney to contact the owners of the property called the Carpenter Addition and inform them that the proposed plat does not meet the Sub -division regulations of the Town of Westlake.
