HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-12-73 TC MinMEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas was held at the Bilbo Ranch in Westlake, Texas on November 12, 1973. The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing at the same time. The meeting was called to order by the A11c9.tror at 7:45 p.m. with the following present: Absent: Howard Dudley, Mayor O.R. Carpenter, Alderman A.F. Oien Jr., Alderman D.L. White, Mayor Pro Tem A.L. Odom, Alderman B.H. Campbell, Alderman Also Present: Wm. Foster, Chairman - Zoning Commission Ray Bowden, Zoning Commission Member Paul C. Isham, Town'Attorney Several citizens of the Town of Westlake Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as corrected. Mayor Dudley opened the public hearing on annexation of 11.32 acres of land adjacent tb Westlake, Texas. The land is owned by Mr. A.M. Tate Sr. Mr. Tate expressed a desire to be annexed into the Town of Westlake. After some discussion the Ordinance No. 61 , calling for the annexation of the above named property was passed and approved on a motion by Alderman 0. R. Carpenter; seconded by Alderman D. L. White. Motion carried unanimously. With several citizens present, Mr. Wm. Foster, Chariman of the Planning and Zoning Commission, conducted a public hearing. After a lengthy discussion several recommended changes to Zoning Ordinance No. 49 were presented to the Board of Aldermen. Alderman A.F. Oion Jr. moved that Ordinance No. 49 be ammended as recommended by the Plan- ning and Zoning Commission; seconded by Alderman O.R. Carpenter. Motion carried unanimously. Alderman D. L. White presented the Board of Aldermen with copies of City of Hurst sub -division ordinances and suggested that the Board consider adopting similar ordinances as sub -division ordinances for the Town of Westlake. A general discussion followed after which Alderman 0, R. Carpenter moved to adopt the sub -division ordinances of the City of Hurst, Texas regarding: a. streets and storm sewers b. ',water and sanitary sewer regulations c. storm drainage criteria d. curb and gutter requirements e. electrical code — A1.4-r1cv, 4- i i ce-rCl[ , i c0D f. plumbing and the Uniform Building Code and for such ordinances to be applied to sub -divisions in the Town of Westlake, Texas and be adopted as Ordinances Nos. 62 through 68 respectively as ordinance of the Town of Westlake, Texas= seconded by Alderman D. L. White. Motion carried unanimously. Alderman D.L. White moved to authorize Mayor Dudley to have building permits and application forms printedt seconded by A. F. Oien Jr. Motion carried unanimously. Alderman D. L. White moved that any sub -divider using septic tanks shall install sewers under the streets for future uses seconded by Alderman A. F. Oien Jr. Aldermen Oien and White and Mayor Dudley voted for; Alderman Carpenter abstained. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned by the Mayor. Attest: Wanda G.
