TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS
A regular called meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town
of Westlake, Texas, was held at the Town Hall at the Circle T Ranch, on
April 9, 1973, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. Notice of the governmental meeting
was duly given by Walter P. Roach, Assistant City Attorney for the Town
of Westlake.
Present were Aldermen B. H. Campbell, Dewey G. Burger and A. L.
Odom. Mayor Pro tem Campbell called the meeting to order. Motion was
made and duly seconded that a reading of the minutes of the meeting of
February 5, 1973, be waived.
Proposed Resolution No. 36, considering the canvassing and
adoption of the election results of the Town of Westlake's April 7,
1973, municipal election was considered. After due discussion, motion
was made and duly seconded that Resolution No. 36 be and the same was
thereby adopted.
Mr. Campbell relinquished the chair to the Honorable Howard
Dudley, newly elected Mayor of the Town of Westlake, who chaired the
meeting thereafter.
In accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, the newly
elected candidates were administered the Oaths of Office and the said
Oaths were deposited with the Town Secretary for safe keeping.
It was pointed out that the Board of Aldermen should select
one of their members to be the Town Secretary. After motion made and
duly seconded, Mr. A. L. Odom was appointed Town Secretary.
Mr. Roach advised that the Town of Westlake owned a 5 3/4%
Certificate Account at Southwest Savings Association in Dallas, Texas.
The Association requires a new signature card with an authorized sig-
nature for the account. Upon motion made and duly seconded, it was
resolved that Howard Dudley, as Mayor, and A. L. Odom, as Town Secre-
tary, sign a new signature card and submit the same to Southwest Savings
Association.
Mr. Roach advised that the Mercantile National Bank was the
depositor of the Town of Westlake checking account and that the bank
requires a new signature card with authorized signatures for the account.
Upon motion made and duly seconded, it was resolved that Howard Dudley,
Mayor and A. L. Odom, Town Secretary submit same to Mercantile National
Bank.
A general discussion concerning Marshal Neckels Peace Officer's
Bond followed. After motion made and duly seconded, Mr. Roach was in-
structed to file the appropriate Bond for Marshal Neckels.
H Marshal Neckels requested that Deputy Marshals be appointed.
After motion made and duly seconded, the following persons were appointed
Deputy Marshals for the Town of Westlake: Dewey G. Burger, B. H. Campbell,
Owen R. Carpenter, S. B. Cathey, George Cunyus, Howard Dudley, N. B. Hunt,
John T. Livingston, Tim Nation, A. L. Odom, Alvin F. Oien, Jr., Walter P.
Roach, Frank A. Schultz, Robert W. Shytles, J. Glenn Turner and Dale L.
White.
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
the said meeting, upon motion made and duly seconded, was adjourned.
