OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
TOWN OF WESTLAKE
February 14, 1972
A meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of West-
lake Texas, was held at the Boathouse of the Circle "T" Ranch
on the 14th day of February, 1972, 7:30 o'clock P.M. Notice of
the governmental body meeting was duly given by Walter P. Roach,
Assistant City Attorney, for the Town of Westlake.
Present were the Honorable George Harmon, Jr., Mayor;
and Aldermen A. L. Odom, Dewey Burger, and S. B. Cathey.
Mr. Harmon called the meeting to order. Motion was made
and duly seconded that a reading of the Minutes of the previous
meeting be waived. Mr. Cathey called for discussion of the April
election.
After due discussion, Mr. Odom moved for a Resolution for
a general election to be held on April 1, 1972, for the Town of
Westlake, Texas, and that the polling headquarters be the Boat-
house of the Circle "T" Ranch. Mr. Burger seconded the motion.
Vote was called: 4 Yea - 0 Nay. Mr. Burger moved that Mrs. A. L.
Odom be presiding judge and Mrs. S. B. Cathey be assistant judge
for the April 1, 1972, election. Mr. Odom seconded the motion.
Vote was called: 4 Yea - 0 Nay.
Mr. Burger moved that applications for office and Oath of
Candidates be filed with the City Secretary. Mr. Odom seconded
the motion. Vote was called: 4 Yea - 0 Nay.
Mr. Cathey moved that the City adopt a Resolution for a
letter of concurrence to Lone Star Gas Company concerning instal-
lation of polyethylene gas tubing to connect Westlake residents'
lines with Lone Star Gas Company's main lines. Mr. Burger secon-
ded the motion. Vote was called: 4 Yea - 0 Nay.
Mr. Bob Shytles gave a financial review of the Town of
Westlake's position, as of the above meeting date.
Mr. Harmon advised that Mr. Monroe Weaver was no longer a
resident of the Town of Westlake and, therefore, would not be
present at this or succeeding meetings. Mr. Bill Webster has
expressed interest in running for the post of Alderman. Mr.
Cecil Neckels has expressed interest in running for the post of
Marshall.
There being no further business to come before the meeting
- it was. upon motion duly made and seconded, adjourned.
