WESTLAKE ACADEMY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES SPECIAL MEETING
July 28, 2008
PRESENT: President Laura Wheat and Board Trustees Carol Langdon, Don Redding, and
Rebecca Rollins.
ABSENT: Trustee Tim Brittan and Larry Corson.
OTHERS PRESENT: Town Manager Thomas Brymer, School Attorney Stan Lowry,
and Secretary Kim Sutter.
1. CALL TO ORDER.
President Wheat called the meeting to order at 6:56 p.m.
2. EXECUTIVE SESSION.
President Wheat recessed the special meeting of the Westlake Academy Board of
Trustees at 6:56 p.m., as she read the following item to be discussed in executive
session:
A. The Board will conduct a closed session under Texas Government Code section
551.071 to seek advice of counsel on legal matters involving pending or
contemplated litigation, settlement offers, or other legal matters not related directly
to litigation or settlement, specifically related to the Texas Education Agency ruling.
President Wheat convened the executive session at 6:58 p.m. The executive session
adjourned at 8:09 p.m.
3. RECONVENE MEETING.
President Wheat reconvened the meeting at 8:15 p.m.

4. ADJOURNMENT.

There being no further business to come before the Board, President Wheat asked for a
motion to adjourn.
MOTION: Trustee Rollins made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Langdon
seconded the motion. The motion carried by a vote of 3-0.
There being no further business, President Wheat adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
